Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, including the ones that are not in our favour.

5 of these answers are the same ones shown inside the VerifyShaadi app. The rest cover what families ask us on the phone.

The basics

The questions almost everyone asks first. These answers are the same ones our mobile app shows.

How long does verification take?
We deliver complete reports within 24 hours of receiving the candidate's consent.
What information is verified?
We verify identity documents, address, employment/education history, and conduct background checks for any adverse records.
How do I receive the report?
Reports are delivered via WhatsApp, email, and are also downloadable from within the app.
Who is this for?
Families considering a matrimonial match, and the candidates themselves. Most orders come from a parent or a sibling. Consultants and matchmaking bureaus order at volume on a monthly plan.
Do I need the mobile app to use this?
No. You can order, pay and download your report on this website. The Android app does the same things and is useful if you want status notifications on your phone.

What we can and cannot check

What are the seven core checks?
Identity, current and permanent address, criminal and court records, education, employment, previous marriage or divorce, and public social media presence. Every Standard, Urgent, NRI and Family report includes all seven on the candidate.
What can you not verify?
Anything that is not on an official or public record. We cannot verify income beyond what an employer will confirm, we cannot verify character, habits, relationships or intentions, and we cannot confirm cases that were never filed or marriages that were never registered. Court digitisation in India is uneven, so some district records are simply not searchable online.
Do you use private investigators or surveillance?
No. No detectives, no following anyone, no photographs, no questioning of neighbours, friends or colleagues. We work from official records, from the sources that will confirm a claim directly, and from what a person has published publicly themselves.
Do you buy data from brokers or use leaked databases?
No. We do not buy personal data, we do not use leaked or scraped databases, and we do not touch dating apps. If a check would require any of that, we do not offer the check.
What if you find nothing at all?
That is a common and good outcome, and the report says so: each check is marked verified, not found, could not verify, or discrepancy. A clean report is a real result, not a failed one, and the fee is the same either way.
Does a human review the report?
Yes. A named analyst reviews every finding before the report is released. Nothing is generated and sent automatically.

Ordering, payment and refunds

How much does it cost?
From ₹1,197 for a Second Opinion up to ₹8,997 for an NRI verification, with the Standard Report at ₹2,397. Every price, turnaround and inclusion is listed on the pricing page. The price shown is the full amount you pay.
When does the turnaround clock start?
When the candidate gives consent, not when you pay. If consent comes in an hour, a Standard Report is with you a day later. If it takes two days, add two days.
How do I pay?
Online at checkout, through our payment gateway. UPI, cards, net banking and wallets are all accepted. We never ask for payment by direct transfer to an individual, and no one from VerifyShaadi will ever call you asking for one.
When am I refunded?
In full if consent is not received within 48 hours, and in full if the candidate withdraws consent before we deliver. We do not refund a completed report because you did not like the findings, or because a record could not be located despite the checks being carried out. The refund policy sets this out in full.
Can I order a verification on more than one candidate?
Yes, that is one report per candidate. The Family Background Check is the exception: it covers the candidate plus immediate family under a single fee.

Privacy and data

Is the verification confidential?
Yes, absolutely. All information is handled with strict confidentiality and shared only with you.
Who can see my report?
The person who ordered it, and the analyst who prepared it. We do not sell reports, share them with matrimonial platforms, or pass them to anyone else without a legal obligation to do so.
How long do you keep the data?
We keep your report available to you in your account, and we retain the underlying verification data only for as long as we need it to stand behind the report or to meet a legal requirement. Both you and the candidate can ask us to delete personal data. See the privacy policy for the specifics and the retention periods.
Are you compliant with the DPDP Act 2023?
Yes. We process personal data on the basis of the candidate’s consent, we tell them what we are collecting and why, and we honour access and erasure requests from data principals. Our privacy policy explains how to make a request.
