Terms of Service

These terms cover what you are buying, what we promise, the important limits of a background report, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Last updated 27 July 2026

1. Who these terms are between

They are between you (“you”, the customer) and VerifyShaadi, operated by DDverse Initiatives (“we”, “us”). They apply whether you use the website or the Android app. By placing an order you accept them.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over and legally able to enter a contract. The candidate you ask us to verify must also be 18 or over. You must have a genuine matrimonial reason for the enquiry. You may not use this service to harass, stalk, intimidate, blackmail or discriminate against anyone, or to build a dossier for resale.

3. What you are buying

A verification report: a set of checks run against official and publicly accessible sources, reviewed by a named human analyst, and delivered to you as a PDF. Which checks are included, the price and the target turnaround are set out on the pricing page for each product, and are confirmed to you before you pay.

4. Consent is a condition of service

In notified mode we will not begin checks until the candidate has consented. In confidential mode we do not contact the candidate, and in exchange the checks that legally require their consent, Aadhaar and PAN identity, EPFO employment, DigiLocker, NAD education, are not run. This is a hard limit in our systems, not a setting. You cannot consent on another person’s behalf, and asking us to proceed as though you could is a breach of these terms.

If you place an order in confidential mode you confirm that your enquiry is genuine and lawful, and you accept responsibility for that representation.

5. What a report is, and is not

This is the most important section on this page. Please read it.

  • A report describes what the accessible records showed on the day we looked. Records change, and some are never digitised at all.
  • “No records found” is not proof of innocence. Indian court and police records are unevenly digitised across states and courts. An absence of findings means we found nothing, not that nothing exists.
  • We do not guarantee that we will detect fraud, concealment or wrongdoing. Anyone determined to hide something may succeed.
  • We do not give a verdict on a person, a score, or a recommendation about whether to proceed with a marriage. That decision is yours.
  • A report is not legal advice, not a credit assessment, and not an employment background check for the purposes of any statute governing those.
  • Where a check could not be completed, no consent, no accessible record, a source outage, the report says so explicitly rather than leaving a gap.

6. Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate candidate details. Wrong spellings and wrong dates of birth are the single biggest cause of failed or inconclusive checks.
  • Keep the report to yourself and your immediate family. Do not publish it, post it, or share it on social media or in community groups.
  • Do not use the findings to threaten, shame or extort. If you do, we will terminate your account and may report it.
  • Keep your sign-in phone number secure. Anyone with it can access your reports.

7. Turnaround

The turnaround stated for each product is a target measured from the point at which work can lawfully begin, for a notified order, from the moment consent is received, not from the moment you pay. Delays caused by an unavailable government source, a court registry holiday or an unreachable employer are outside our control. Where we miss the target materially and it is our fault, the Refund Policy explains what you get.

8. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in Indian rupees on the pricing page and confirmed in the order summary before you pay. Payment is taken by PayU Payments Private Limited. The amount is always determined by our server from the order; nothing sent from your browser or phone can change it. Add-ons such as a video consultation or monthly monitoring are charged as shown at the time you add them; monitoring is a recurring monthly charge you can cancel at any time, effective from the next billing date.

9. Consultant Pro

Consultant Pro is a monthly subscription for matrimonial consultants, with the report allowance and terms agreed in writing when the account is opened. Consultants remain responsible for having a lawful basis for each enquiry they submit and for the consent of each candidate. Reports may be shared with the specific client family the enquiry relates to and with nobody else.

10. Corrections and the candidate’s right of reply

If a candidate tells us a finding about them is wrong, we will re-check it against the source. If it was our error we correct the report, notify you, and issue a refund or a free re-run as appropriate. We will not delete an accurate finding because someone would prefer it were not there.

11. Intellectual property

The report layout, our writing and this website are ours. The facts in a report are not owned by anyone. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use your report for your own matrimonial decision.

12. Liability

We will carry out the checks with reasonable skill and care. We are responsible for our own errors. We are not responsible for the accuracy of the underlying official records, for decisions you take after reading a report, or for outcomes we could not reasonably have foreseen. Subject to Indian law, and except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

13. Suspension and termination

We may refuse or cancel an order, with a refund, if we believe the enquiry is unlawful, abusive, or outside a genuine matrimonial purpose. You may close your account at any time by writing to verifyshaadi@ddverse.in.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to an order is the version published when you placed it. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app.

15. Governing law and grievances

These terms are governed by Indian law and the courts of India have jurisdiction. Please raise any complaint with us first at verifyshaadi@ddverse.in; we acknowledge within 3 working days. Data protection complaints can also go to the Data Protection Board of India, see the Privacy Policy.
